What Even Is A Vixen & Tod?
Let's get this out of the way first - a Vixen is a female fox (duh!) and a Tod is her male counterpart.
And that describes us. We're a husband and wife team living the domestic dream in rural North Yorkshire. And we're both massive candle fans - what started out as a necessity to cover up the smells of muddy football boots and burnt Super Noodles in our student flat grew into a passion that eventually took shape as V&T.
We've been on the same candle journey as so many of our customers - from tea lights to create the mood; to Yankee's never-ending kaleidoscope of fragrances; to oh-so-chic collections from Jo Malone, Neom and White Company; as well as the copycat ones from Aldi. We've dallied with fragranced melts and with oil diffusers and we've loved many of them. But we've always felt that there was something missing. And that something lies at the intersection of a fragrance-packed-punch and a fair price!
There's a constant creative tension between us when it comes to fragrances and what they mean to us. She loves the sensory overload of impossibly-ripe fruit and florals. He is never happier than with the fragrance of fresh laundry and ocean spray wafting on the breeze. But what we have in common is that those scents aren't just 'nice smells'. They evoke the memories of a life lived - from the simple joys of childhood to the most breathtaking sights we've taken in on our travels, and from the simple happy places we go to in our everyday lives to memories of the greatest moments we've lived.
Vixen & Tod home fragrances are imagined with the mood and the moment first, and the fragrance to conjure that moment back up as soon as the wick is lit or the reeds dunked. So whatever you want to feel, wherever you want to mentally travel to, our aim is to have the fragrance that perfectly captures that feeling and recreates it for you in your home.
They also last for bloody ages and you can't say fairer than that.
